Leon Parris

Leon began his career at the National Youth Music Theatre working on the original WHISTLE DOWN THE WIND which toured to the Edinburgh Festival and then came in to Sadler’s Wells.  Subsequently he was Assistant Musical Arranger for BUGSY MALONE at The Queens Theatre London.  Leon is a Qualified Vocal Coach and trained at the National Music Theatre.  

Between 2000 and 2002 Leon worked with Hat trick productions on the music and soundscape for a variety of television and advertising projects.  During 2001 he worked with Brian Clemens (creator of THE PROFESSIONS, THE AVENGERS et al) on a number of projects writing music and working on sound design for television and film.  The following year saw him compose the music and design the soundscape for the sci-fi trilogy EARTHSEARCH: MINDWARP by James Follett for Big Finish Productions, which was published in 2003.

At present Leon is working on the sound design and score for a series of short films for the Edinburgh Film Festival

Awards and Bursaries
The Really Useful Group Award for Most Promising Young Writer, The Warner Chappell Award, The Mercury Workshops Award (Cameron Macintosh) and The Vivian Ellis Award for Best Musical.  In 2001 Leon was given a Cameron Macintosh Bursary.
