Kino is a pearl diver in La Paz. He lives a simple life with his wife Juana and baby son, Coyotito. Their family unit is filled with love and Kino has no wishes to leave his idyllic life.

One day when diving Kino finds the greatest pearl in the world - and his life changes forever.

John Steinbeck's beautiful and haunting story the Pearl investigates universal themes such as greed, capitalism, racism and justice. It also takes a look at the corruption of western empires and the effect that they have on the world.
