We offer instrumentalists a unique chance to work and learn with some of the UK’s top theatre composers and musical directors as well as a great way to improve your overall perception of performance, by taking part in a fully-staged show in one of the country’s most exciting venues.
In 2010 we shall be offering opportunities on a number of our productions. We shall be looking for a small pit band to play on our production of Peter Pan which rehearses and plays in the summer and then again at Christmas 2010 in London. The line up will be 2nd keyboard, drum kit/percussion, bass and flute.
We shall also be putting together at least one group of musicians for whom a new score will be specially composed. This will consist of a mixed group of woodwind, strings and brass but the exact line up will depend on applications – in other words the piece will be scored for you.
Broadly speaking we expect musicians to be Grade 7-8 or the equivalent if you do not have grades. We love unusual or rarely played instruments, so if you play bassoon or oud or the kanoon or dulcimer, do come along.
